Lanyards are a great accessory for holding identification cards, swipe cards, information cards, keys and more.

We're working towards the optimal lanyard system which helps improve staff identification.

For those in the know there are some issues that we've designed our lanyards to help overcome:

Infection control

Some institutions are resistant to lanyards from an infection control perspective. There are concerns that because they're rarely washed and are worn for long periods of time that they can harbour micro-organisms and be a potential source of infection. We've overcome this issue by designing our lanyards from silicone (the same material stethoscopes are made from) - they are easily wipeable with disinfectant solutions.

Identification

Lanyards are often tucked away down scrub tops. This is for good reason - to stop them dangling down and interfering with work flows. This means that any identification attached to them becomes difficult/impossible to see. Our lanyards have your level of experience written on them (eg intern, registrar, fellow etc) and are neatly colour coded from least experienced - white (medical student) through to most experienced - black (consultant/attending) with increasing shades of blue in between. We feel this is the simplest system for everyone to understand - and we hope it takes off more broadly.

Safety

There are safety concerns around the use of lanyards - with them being worn around the neck they are a potential strangling risk. We've overcome this issue by introducing 2 easy quick release clips that will give way if the lanyard is pulled too firmly.

We hope you like our lanyards - we've started off creating them for doctors and this will be expanded to nurses and other staff throughout the healthcare system.

If there's a bespoke lanyard system which works best for your team then please get in touch and let us know.

We're always extremely grateful to hear from you.
